The first half of the 19th century was a tumultuous time for Texas. In just 50 years, the region changed hands between Spain, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, and the United States. These transitions significantly altered the lives of the Native people, Hispanic Tejanos, and Anglo-Texans, living in the region and forever changed the direction of the young United States. During this pivotal time, many legendary figures from American History cemented their place among the pantheon of national heroes—Austin, Bowie, Houston, Crockett, Wallace, Hays, and so many more blazed a path through the texas frontier and helped to create the “Lone Star State.”
This historical map illustrates the events that shaped the Republic of Texas, from the earliest signs of unrest in 1811, through the Republic's last day of independence in 1846 when it joined the United States. Available nowhere else, this map features original research and design by Bad Hoss Map Company. Features illustrated on this map include battles of the Texas Revolution, routes of the Mexican Army, major event locations such as massacres and treaties, El Camino Real, Santa Fe Trail and other historic roads, Spanish missions, frontier forts, historic political boundaries, routes of the Santa Fe Expedition and the Snively Expedition, chronology of major events, insets showing the Adams–Onís Treaty and San Antonio de Bexar area and more!
This may be the perfect gift for the Texan or history lover in your life!
